In the middle of the Bahamas’ bright blue water lies the secluded island of CocoCay. With its white-sand beaches and spectacular surroundings, CocoCay is a wonderland of adventure. Reserved exclusively for Royal Caribbean guests, this tropical paradise has recently been updated with a new aquatic facilities, nature trails and great places to just sit back, relax and enjoy a tropical drink like the “Coco Loco”.
Located in the Berry Islands chain, CocoCay is a 140-acre private playground. There are plenty of fun activies to do while on this island such as parasailing, jump on a wave runner, go snorkeling, jet ski and simply unwind on the beach on one of the lounge chairs and work on your suntan.
Royal Caribbean recently added a new 20,000-square-foot aqua adventure park. Caylana’s Castle Cove gives both adults and kids a chance to play and test their skills on a series of challenges from floating rock-climbing to aquatic trampolines. Situated just offshore in the crystal-blue waters around CocoCay, the park features fun, floating activies to appeal to visitors of all ages. These include two 14-foot castles with one side for climbing and the other for sliding. ; two 25-foot floating trampolines, several “slidewalks” and aqua logs. The separate children’s section consists of similar equipment on a smaller scale.
Legend has it that the renowned pirate Blackbeard buried his treasure on the Berry Islands and this treasure has never been found. CocoCay just may hold a better welcome than you ever imagined!
While shopping for arts and crafts, remember that only “cash” purchases can be made in the Native Market. Under the Caribbean Basin Initiative, nearly all the items on sale in the marketplace qualify for duty-free.
